Breed setup

Setting up breeds makes sure that all the breeds you use on the farm are available when you're registering animals in the system. You can only pick from the breeds listed here when entering data, which helps keep animal records accurate and consistent. 

Breeds must be set up in the system before animals can be entered into the program. 

To set up the breeds you use, go to "Settings" - "Production" - "Breed". Click "Add new row" and put a short code in "Code" and a clear name in "Name".  If you have purebred animals, check the "Pure bred" box. 

This will let you pick a breed from the list or search for one when you're adding animals to the database.
